TESTIMONIALS
QuIHN is an organisation that works predominantly with adults with substance use and associated mental health concerns. Through this work we often come in contact either directly or indirectly with the children of the adults with whom we work, and as such have a duty of care not only to the adults with whom we work but also their children. For this reason we sought the help of an expert to guide and develop our child protection policies and procedures. Anna Maxwell came highly recommended to us as a person who could provide such support and expertise.
Nicola Hayes , Senior Program Manager Treatment Services - QuIHN.
Anna helped me and my sons cope with a traumatic experience in our lives. She taught us that nothing is too scary to talk about and that talking to each other is such a powerful way to heal. I’ve learned that I can’t protect my children from everything in their lives, but I can model and encourage resilience so they can survive this and other things that come up in their lives.
Belinda - mother of two wonderful adolescent boys
I have known Anna professionally for many years and have made a number of referrals to her service in my role as a General Practitioner. I have found the way in which Anna works with children and their families unique. Anna works with the ‘whole’ child not just a symptom or a behaviour. The quality of relationship she is able to develop with scared and frightened children is nothing short of a miracle. I would have no hesitation in recommending Anna to work with children and families that have experienced trauma and hardship in their lives.
Dr Margaret Hall – General Practitioner
I found supervision with Anna a cathartic experience. It enabled me to self-reflect upon my own interactions with clients and come to a better understanding and appreciation of what may have been happening for them and how to more effectively engage with them in my future work. The supervision sessions were undertaken in such a way I was able to bring together evidence based practice with practical strategies to assist me in my casework.

In 2011, our daughter was hit by a car when she was crossing the road after school. She sustained severe injuries to both her legs resulting in her right leg being amputated from below the knee. It left our daughter feeling depressed, ugly and not wanting to go back to school. Anna helped our daughter come to terms with the loss of her leg and adjust to a new way of relating to her-self and others. She is now actively involved in school again and enjoying life. Thank you Anna for bring our daughter back from the brink of despair and helping the whole family though a very difficult time.
Lisa, Mother of an 8 year old daughter
I have known Anna Maxwell for over 6 years now through my involvement in child protection and family law matters and am very much aware of her commitment and professionalism in child welfare related legal proceedings. I have had the benefit of regular professional assistance from Anna in both child protection and family court matters and her dedication and high degree of ability are to be commended. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone seeking her help or intervention in such matters.
